I'm pleased as punch to check out the second year of The Gourmet Experience in San DIego for two reasons: 1)The cooking and home entertaining showcase was really well put-together last year (read about it here) and it sounds like it's gotten even better, and 2) It's the precursor to the huge San Diego Wine & Food Festival November 16-20.
There will be plenty of cooking demonstrations, including a Fish Taco TKO competition on Sunday. Last time I recall there were lots of samples of fantastic condiments like gourmet oils and vinegars, but more cooking and household items than actual substantial food. Wonderful, but not enough to handle the "That's the Spirit Pavilion," which held some grown-ups captive the whole day. This time, I'll eat a big breakfast to ensure my spirit-tasting abilities are up to par.
Tickets are $25 for one day, $40 for both. Enter GOURMET10 at your online check-out, and receive $10 off.
See you there!
