Urban Jungle Dating Dilemmas...a web series!

After months of joy, heartache, frustrations and triumphs (it only sounds melodramatic...it's actually true), our web series is alive and kicking! It's not over yet, and there's plenty of laughing and crying left on the project, but it has been an amazing lesson in teamwork and communication among many other things. We've all pushed ourselves in ways that may have driven less hearty folk to quit- or at least to drink quite heavily- but we've persevered, and I'm so glad we did!

Last month's launch party was an unqualified success. With the help of family and friends, we transformed the fantastically versatile and centrally located Studio/Stage into a whimsical wonderland apropos of our protagonist, Tessa. The great kitchen space at Studio/Stage, enabled us to feed and quench our guests with things like yummy punches (both boozy and non), delectable dips, and Pizza Rosa (possibly the best pizza in the world), from Palermo Italian Restaurant.

Guests were encouraged to mingle and solve a mystery for prizes, share bad date poetry, and find their "perfect match" of people from the series. At any time (once we got it working, that is!) they could duck into a side room to watch Episode 1 on a continuous loop.

There are now three episodes to watch on our website, UrbanJungleDatingDilemmas.com , and more to come every 2 weeks. We've got six in the can, and two more to shoot. I've even learned a new skill- editing!- for the upcoming episodes.

Working on a shoestring budget with a skeleton crew has been a challenge, and we've relied heavily on the generosity of virtual strangers and friends alike. We still need to raise money to shoot episodes 7 and 8, so if you like what you see and have a couple bucks burning a hole in your pocket, kindly visit our site and click that donate button!

Even if you can't hit the donate button, visit our site to meet daydreamer Tessa as she stumbles through the dating scene in L.A., and takes a hiatus from her pet-grooming job to pursue a new life as a bumbling detective. With the help of her best friend, Allison, cousin Paul, and his accidental new BFF, Sara, Tessa navigates some sticky situations.

My heartfelt thanks to all of the people who have donated time, food, and money to this project. Thanks especially to the indefatigable team of Alicia Lara, Samm Hill, Jason Farell, and my very own sister, Lara Fisher for making this an extraordinarily memorable exploit. It may not be perfect, but by golly, it's something we can all be mighty proud of!
